2.First Use

When launching Ptrack for the first time, you will see a window pops up requesting information input, and the terminologies are defined as follows:

fs_1

  • Name: server alias. This option allows you to set a simple name for the server you log onto. No mandatory requirements on the naming convention.
  • Host: server address - input the address of the server you are about to log onto.
  • Authentication Type: ADC users select RSA; UE users select HAS; common account users select common account.
  • User: user name for logging in - your corp email prefix.
  • Password: password to log in your account - your corp email password.

Check Auto Switch and Connect Immediately. Click OK and you will be switched to that server.

  • Language Setting

Ptrack comes with four languages: Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean. Click on Setting and select your language. Restart Ptrack for the language change to take effect.

  • Z Disk Mapping

Skip this step if your Z disk is already set up.

Ptrack has a built-in Z disk mapping tool. The tool can be accessed via Setting -> Z Disk Mapping.
fs_3

For those that need to set up mapping, select your folder and click OK.

fs_4

The drive letter is Z by default, and the mapping path leads to a folder in a physicial drive. You may create a new folder in the hard drive that has the largest storage capacity as your mapping path.

  • Create Workspace

If you have created a workspace using old P4V client, you may skip this step.

Switch to your workspace from Home, click Manage and then click Add in the Manage screen.

fs_5

In workspace Configuration page, click Browse next to Root Path, and select your directory. If you have set up Z disk mapping, you may set Z disk as your Root Path. When setup is completed, click OK to finish workspace creation.

Note that do not set Ptrack installation directory as your Root Path.
